Pick an artist from the Mainstream: Miles Davis, John Coltrane or Charles Mingus. Listen to a musical selection from Kind of Blue (Miles Davis), Giant Steps (John Coltrane) or Mingus Ah Um (Charles Mingus). Make sure it is a piece not in the textbook. Write a paragraph about the piece using musical language. Make sure you tell us the name of the piece and why you chose it.
